What is NESM?
The Numismatics Exonumia Scripophily Museum, or NESM for short. Project launched in 2025; its goal is pretty ambitious: to be the top global spot for the "Cultural Heritage of World Banking and Finance". NESM is almost entirely focused on Paper heritage, but not on Fractional currency/Subsidiary money, such as coins.
What is the WEFA?
World Economic and Finance Archives, or WEFA for short. WEFA captures the historical record of sovereign financial systems by archiving the legal structures, frameworks, and official government decisions behind finance, rather than just economic theories or private company records.
What is the relationship between NESM and WEFA?
Connection to NESM: WEFA serves as the legal backbone for the physical artifacts collected by the broader NESM project, providing context and validation for those objects.
The NESM shows the original relics, and the WEFA goes beyond the physical objects. WEFA's major task is to capture the system's historical record. It provides that comprehensive legal background that actually gives meaning and value to the artifacts.
When they come together, it becomes a historical scene-based exhibition.

Are all collections real Antiquity?
All of them are real and original artifacts. Professionals examine them before being displayed to the public. In some cases, valuable replicants (such as special editions) and fake relics (such as “L’affaire Bojarski”) are also important parts of the collection. If necessary, a counterfeit demonstration will be specifically indicated.
Where is the NESM located?
Our Preparation Office and Cultural Relic Workshop are in Birmingham.
At present, we are looking for a permanent home for our heritage. If you have a property suitable for a museum and wish to join a joint venture with us, please feel free to contact us for further discussion. The location for the new museum is currently open and expected to launch in the first quarter of 2027.
Is NESM open to the public?
Yes, we are now open for visits by appointment. During this preparation stage, we invite visitors to view our cultural relic collection for free, but only by making a reservation. The location is our Preparatory Office, the Heritage Conservation Restoration Workshop, or, by special arrangement, in Birmingham, near the city center.
Visiting NESM
Need to book at least 3 weeks in advance. Choose your preferred topic, and we will assign a professional docent to lead you through a fabulous experience. The group should not exceed 6 visitors. Your topic will determine the duration, but it is normally between 1 hour and 30 minutes and 2 hours.
Visiting WEFA
The World Finance Archives (including our Library Archival Treasures’ collection) accepts bookings only from affiliated academic institutions and related professional bodies. Our major category includes rare books, original Decrees, Acts of Parliament, Banking Reports, and much more to support academic economic research at a new level. What are the differences between NESM and other Numismatic/Scripophily Museums or Bank Museums?
The key is its integrated scope. Most finance museums tend to focus on a specific area, like national currency or the history of a particular bank.
Will NESM become an iconic museum in the UK?
Definitely! Great Britain was one of the earliest and most important countries to establish an international stock exchange; it played a key role in the world history of banking and finance. In 1698 (London, England), formal stock trading moved into Jonathan's Coffee House, which eventually evolved into the London Stock Exchange. NESM is going to create an internationally iconic symbol of this brilliant history and extend the international financial history by demonstrating the worldwide economic heritage from Scripophily to Numismatics.
